The Summer of Love

The Summer of Love

"The 'Summer of Love' refers to 1967. Itís fifty years since the world became aware of the hippy phenomenon that had so many young people travelling to San Francisco, eager to attend the Monterey Pop Festival, to wear flowers in their hair and to experiment with drugs and sex. To commemorate such a heady time, a host of local performers will search out their flowers (in some cases, also their hair) and revive the best of the songs from that year (but without the drugs and sex!). Taking part will be: Chris & Debs Lee, The Waite Collective, Graham Bellinger, Steve Henson, Full House, Welcomme, Finnan & Chrimes, Charlotte Peters Rock, Rose Price & Ian Jones, Roy & Mary Clinging and Les Lawton.
