CHESTER FOLK SURVIVORS

Chester Folk Festival

Friday 23rd May - Monday 26th May 2008

CAMPING INFORMATION

We will have 2 camp sites again: Campsite 1 is the field behind the Morris Dancer pub where camping is permitted around the main festival marquee; Campsite 2 is the same new camping area we used last year - not far from the main field and accessed via the public footpath, with vehicle access via Flat Lane (see map below). There are toilet and washing facilities on both sites - unfortunately we do not have the necessary space, electrical power or water pressure to provide showers.

Both sites are restricted to weekend ticket holders.

Campsite rules must be followed if we are to be permitted to have future festivals in this village. We apologise for any inconvenience - your co-operation is appreciated.

Campsite 1

The site is divided into 3 areas:

1. Caravan Area

Only caravans, camper-vans and cars are allowed in this area.

Caravans and camper vans must be at least 3 metres (approx. 10 feet) apart, although cars may be parked in the spaces between vans.

Tents are not allowed in the caravan area.

Regrettably we do not have space for awnings.

2. Main Tent Area

Tents and trailer tents are allowed in this area, and must be at least 3 metres (approx. 10 feet) apart

Cars are not permitted in this area, but you may drive your car on to unload and then remove it afterwards to one of the car parking areas, which we have tried to locate as conveniently as possible.

3. Village Playing Field

Only tents are allowed in this area and they must be at least 3 metres (approx. 10 feet) apart.

Dogs are not permitted on this field and there is no access for vehicles.

Local by-laws prohibit the consumption of alcohol on this part of the site.

Please note that this is the village playing field. There will be small children playing on the swings, although, as last year, the football pitch will not be in use and older youths will be discouraged from congregating there.

General Notes for Campsite 1

Open fires are not permitted anywhere on this site.

Please keep all the roadways marked clear of tents, caravans or vehicles.

Please help to keep the campsite tidy by placing all rubbish in the bags provided and putting these in the skips after use.

Please keep campsite noise to a minimum - in particular, no drums or amplified instruments and no noise at all after 2 am.

Because of problems with non-festival goers causing disruption in the past, camping will be strictly reserved for weekend ticket holders who have pre-booked. It is therefore essential that you obtain a camping permit and display it on your tent or caravan.

Campsite 2

This is a QUIET site - there must be no noise at all after 10 pm and no music or singing at any time. This is because the field adjoins several houses and also it is not licensed for live music.

Tents and caravans must be at least 3 metres (approx. 10 feet) apart.

You may park your car next to your tent or caravan.

Open fires are not permitted anywhere on this site

Please help to keep the campsite tidy by placing all rubbish in the bags provided.
