CHESTER FOLK SURVIVORS
Chester Folk Festival
Displays
Our usual stalwarts, without whom no Chester Folk
Festival would be complete - Chester City Morris Men,
White Hart Morris Men and
Bradshaw Mummers,
are this year joind by
The Witchmen
- morris from the Daarkside, where pagan ritual dance meets street
entertainment. Their dances are based on traditional border morris, but they have mutated that
style to create dances which are exiting, entertaining and relevant to 21st Century audiences.
THE WITCHMEN
For Saturday's display we will be joined by some of the children from Elm Class at Kelsall
Primary School, with their teacher Katie Hetherington. They have been learning some folk dances
in their PE lessons this term, including one they have made up themselves.
We will also be joined on Sunday by traditional Welsh dance group
Dawnswyr Delyn from Mold.
