Chester Folk Festival 2000
The Chester Folk Festival, held in Kelsall, was a storming success yet
again, despite the weather trying to intervene. Keith Donnelly and
Les Barker kept the laughter flowing between the river of tunes and
songs that wended their way through the weekend.
The most voted for session of the festival was the 'Rock and Roll Night'
held in the Community Centre. However, the individual performances of
The Albion Band, Jez Lowe & The Bad Pennies, Robin Laing, Last Night's
Fun, Marie Little and many others, held audiences in their grip as
each offered their own unique presence and presentation. The children
had great fun with Grommet the Balloon man along with other entertainers
and storytellers.
This is not official, but from what I saw of the weekend audiences,
tents and caravans, I would say the festival for 2001 is on a very
sound footing and I for one am looking forward to it! A big thank you
to the organisers 'Chester Folk Survivors'
