Chester Folk Festival Presents
An Autumn Trilogy
Showcasing some of the finest talent on the British Folk scene, an eclectic mix of the traditional and the modern – a
magical evening of music and song.

An evening of songs and tunes with
The musical equivalent of the proverbial, ‘marriage made in heaven’, Phoebe Rees & Ben Robertson are two of the very finest of the younger generation of UK Folk musicians. Both outstanding solo performers in their own right, in combination each powerfully complements the others unique talents. Dazzling fiddle-playing meets extraordinary guitar virtuosity and two very fine voices blend to bring you some of the best of Folk Music in the 21st Century….....and if that sounds awesome, that’s because it is!
A humble but total star, singer-songwriter Will Riding has become a great favourite with Chester audiences. He writes witty, amusing, observant and compassionate songs, dealing in the joys, tragedies, triumphs and failures of everyday life. I was going to say, “of the everyday lives of ordinary people” but whenever I get to know an ‘ordinary’ person, they turn out to be anything but ordinary….just like in Will’s songs….just like Will in fact! A nifty finger-style guitarist to boot.
We proudly present newly-minted (i.e. brand-new!) Folk-Rock ensemble Oktober Hollow. With a line-up featuring five of the most talented young musicians in this neck of the woods, they are a band about which we are very excited. Rowan (Double Bass), Hannah (Violin; Vocals), Oscar (Guitar; Vocals), Charlotte (Percussion) and Filip (Whistle; Mandolin) are all fine players and singers who together produce a vibrant, distinctive and thoroughly modern sound that we know you are going to love!
