Age 10 - 18? Play an instrument or sing?

Young Folk Sunday Sessions

Come and join our FREE Folk Music Sunday Sessions where you can learn how to play and sing folk tunes and songs by ear. 

No music reading is necessary! All ability levels are welcome.

Just bring your instrument and voice and we will create a fun Folk Ensemble which will develop your musicianship and listening skills.

As well as songs and tunes, you can also learn a morris dance.

When are Young Folk Sunday Sessions?

Young Folk Sunday Sessions are designed as a monthly series running from November to May, culminating in a performance at

Chester Folk Festival in Kelsall on Monday 25th May 2026. 

Sessions will run on the following dates: 9th November, 14th December,

11th January, 8th February, 8th March, 12th April, 10th May

from 2 - 4pm at

St Mary’s Handbridge Centre, Overleigh Road, Handbridge, Chester, CH4 7HL​
